Two of The Most Popular Toro Snow Blowers Around
If you are looking for Toro snow blowers….
Here are two of the best ones
There are many snow blowers to choose from. Toro snow blowers are some of the best and I am going to share with the pros and cons of two of the most popular toro snow blowers that are available. Each one of these two is a toro electric snow blower and I will share with you why these are so popular and the benefits of why electric snow blowers are often more popular over the more powerful gas blowers.
The two blowers I am going to talk about are the Toro 1800 power curve snow thrower and the smaller more inexpensive Toro power shovel.
Even though there are really many different toro snow blowers for sale, these two have been the most popular for a while. first let me share with you the benefits of electric snow blowers over gas.
The benefits of an electric snow blower over a gas snowblower
The main benefit of electric snow throwers over a gas snow blower is that they always start.
If you know of friends or family who didn’t want to bother with the pain of using a long extension cord for their snow blower so they bought a gas snowblower then its very probable that they were really happy for one or two seasons. For one or two seasons it works great…then the problems start. Many owners of gas blowers spend lots of their trying to get their gas blowers to start up in the cold winter and cleaning out the chutes.
The gas blowers need to be repaired often while the electric blowers need much less repair and they will start up easily even after not being used for many years.
Another benefit of the electric snow blowers is that you don’t have to worry about gas and or mixing the gas with the oil. The electric snow blowers also don’t need as much lubrication as their gas counterparts and they are much lighter.
You are always prepared for a storm. Just pull out your machine, plug it into an extension cord and you are good to go.Many gas blower owners will forget over the summer that they need gas for their blowers and will not be prepared to use their blower when a storm hits. Then try getting to the gas station after a snow storm. They are clean running therefor causing less pollution.
So if you have decided you are going for an electric snow blower then you will need to look at the two Toro snow blowers I have reviewed here.
The Toro 1800 Power Curve-Snow Blower
Who will buy the Toro 1800 electric snow blower:
- Those that appreciate the quality name that comes with Toro
- Those that don’t want to spend the price of a good gas blower
- Those that want a machine that is reliable and will start up easily for many winters to come
- Those that don’t want to break their backs shoveling the snow that piles up after a storm
The Toro 1800 has been around for a long time and has been popular for along time. It will easily clean up 10 inches of snow and cleans slush as well. This machine has a real easy assembly and can be put together in 5-10 minutes. It will throw the snow about 15-20 feet and is very ight to use. It is also very quiet. There is no clogging and it is easy to store.
There are also some cons to this machine.Firstly some people seem to find the wheels to small. This can be fixed however, by replacing them with larger rubber wheels.
Another complaint is that you need to press the trigger and the start button the whole time you are using it. If you want to fix that problem you can put a clamp on the button to keep it depressed and then you only have to hold down one button. The thrower also only throws the snow in very specific directions and you will have to position the snow blower in the direction you want the snow to be thrown.
This machine is definitely more work than a gas blower but, the advantages of this machine far outweigh the benefits of a gas blower. One reason that some people find it harder to use is because they tend to use it like a lawn mower. They go all the way to the end and back again causing problems with the extension cord. If you use it instead, like a vacuum cleaner you will get better results and the cord will be easier to handle.

The second toro snow blower I am going to talk about is the
The Toro Power Shovel
Electric snow snow thrower
This toro snow blower is called a power shovel because of its size. It is not designed for deep snow but, works great on walkways, decks and works great for stairs. It is also electric and it extremely light. It is very easy to carry, easy to use very fast, quite and in general quite user friendly. It is also about a third of the cost of the power curve blower reviewed above.
It’s great for areas of traffic that are easily accessible and is actually better in wet snow than in direr snow.It works very on compacted snow also. It is very kid friendly as it is so lightweight and easy to use. (It is a good idea to watch what they are doing until they get the hang of it and don’t give it to kids that are too young)
If however, and this is a big IF you need a snow blower for a very big driveway or need to clean up very heavy, deep snow then this is not the snow blower for you.
A problem that you may find with this snow blower as well is then you also need to hold the button down to keep it working and it can be very tiring. A way around this issue is to use a clamp as in the one above to keep it depressed while using the snow blower.
